Started in Motocross racing at the age of five. 2001 proved to be the
year his talent became recognized. Keeton won five of the 11 national races he participated in. In 2001, Keeton also started racing Mini-Cup cars and Baby Grands to test his skills on blacktop. He set the track record at Beach Bend (KY) Raceway during 2001 and won several feature events at his home track.

From 2002-2004, Keeton advanced to the Legends Series and in 2004, Keeton won the National Pro Legends Asphalt Points Championship. Keeton is the youngest driver to win the Pro Championship in series history. In his three years of racing Legends he has accumulated 57 feature wins and is a two-time Kentucky State Champion (2002 & 2003).

Prior to the start of the 2005 ASA Late Model Series season, Keeton won a Baby Grands feature during Florida Speedweek at the Orlando (FL) Speedworld and picked up two more feature wins at the Music City (TN) Motorplex in his Legends car.

For the 2005 season, Keeton competed in the ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM Performance Parts and was in the running for coveted Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year Championship given to the series’ highest finished first year competitor in the final points standing.

Keeton was in contention for the overall championship in the ASA Late Model Series against some of the most talented drivers in the country.
